Rust Printed Silk Scarf

This organza scarf was created by using rusty metal as a printing plate. The rust gives an interesting range of colors to the fabric from very light soft red browns to deep rust browns and sometimes even black. The images in this piece remind me of backbones . Words are one of the backbones of our society. The scarf measures 20 inches wide by 70 inches long.
